School Uniform
At Red Oak Primary we hope that children learn to take pride in themselves and our school. They also need to feel comfortable so that they achieve to the best of their abilities. We feel that the uniform achieves these aims and is as follows:
- Black/grey trousers or skirt.
- Navy jumper or cardigan (available from the school office)
- Red or pale blue shirt/polo shirt.
- Flat black shoes (no high heels)
We also ask that during Autumn/Winter months a suitable jacket is worn by pupils.
It is important that each item of clothing is clearly marked with your child’s name.

Jewellery
Jewellery must not be worn to school with the exception of a wrist watch or small rounded stud earrings. Jewellery must be removed prior to any physical education including swimming. If a child is unable to remove earrings then suitable ear tape must be worn to cover them. The school is not required to provide ear tape so please ensure your child has some if it is needed.
Hair
All pupils may choose to grow their hair long or keep it short. However, all pupils with hair that is long or hair that is possible to tie up, should wear their hair tied up. This is for health and safety reasons to stop hair becoming entangled in school equipment, accidently becoming tugged or pulled during break times and to ensure that pupils can see their work clearly.
Hair should be of the natural colour and not dyed.
Sportswear
For physical education pupils are required to wear a plain t-shirt, shorts and suitable footwear (i.e. plimsolls or trainers). Clothing should be named and kept in a small named P.E bag. During colder months pupils should have a warm tracksuit to wear. P.E will continue outside during the winter months so please ensure your child has adequate clothing. A swimming costume, towel and swimming hat is required for pupils in KS2 during swimming lesson season.
Long hair must be tied up for all sports.
During tournaments we have our own school sports tops for the children to use. Please see the pictures below:
