Friendship Ambassadors

The children at Red Oak Primary School are lucky to have a dedicated team of “Friendship Ambassadors”.  These are children who have a passion for helping and supporting others and who are happy to give up their time to help other children in school who may be lonely or struggling to find friends to play with at breaktimes.

The children have to apply for this role and they take this very seriously.  There is a formal application process to become a Friendship Ambassador and there are always plenty of keen children waiting to apply each academic year.  The children attend regular meetings to discuss how they want to promote and guide others on how to be a good friend.  These meetings are attended by members of the pastoral team but are led by the children themselves.  The children are keen to be “on duty” at breaktimes offering to help others who may be struggling with friendships.

Friendship ambassadors are presented with a badge to wear around school so that they are easily identifiable, and a certificate and a letter to congratulate them on their achievement.
