Well done to all of the Key Stage 1 teams and schools that took part in the ALT North Suffolk Schools’ matball sports tournament which was held at Red Oak today. It was a wonderful event and all of the children from the different schools had lots of fun. (We will post our Red Oak team photos later on in the week ☺️)

🌟 Year 3 Ancient Egypt Day! 🌟 Year 3 had a fantastic day diving into the world of Ancient Egypt! 🇪🇬✨ During the morning, the children explored the reign of Akhenaten through hands‑on activities and role play. They experienced different daily jobs and ancient beliefs while getting creative with: 🖋️ Making ink and writing in hieroglyphics 📜 Creating their own ancient scrolls 🎲 Making and playing Senet (Egyptian board game) ⚱️ Crafting canopic jars 🗿 Making shabti dolls 🌸 Creating perfume cones 🧪 Practising mummification techniques 🔮 Designing amulets and pectoral amulets In the afternoon, the children worked in groups to rehearse their roles in the Royal Court — taking on roles such as slaves, actors, dancers, and priests, supported by adult helpers. They practised traditional Egyptian entertainment and performed in front of Queen Nefertiti herself! 👑 The day ended with a much‑enjoyed royal banquet. 🍇✨ What an amazing, immersive learning experience! 🎉📚

🎶 Musical Magic in Class 5AD! 🎶 Today, we were treated to a fantastic keyboard performance by Bella! She only got her keyboard for Christmas and has already learnt so much — keep it up, Bella! 👏 5AD have also been lucky enough to enjoy a ukulele and singing performance by Evie N‑C, plus wonderful singing from Edith, Evie H, Tina and Xylia. 🌟 What a talented and musical class we have! 🙂💛

🎶 Reception Had a Musical Treat Yesterday! 🎵 A big thank you to Mr. Goldsmith for visiting Reception and sharing some of his wonderful instruments, including a melodeon and other stringed instruments. The children loved having a go and exploring the sounds! He also explained how music and instruments can pass on important history from one generation to the next—a truly inspiring session for our young learners. 👏 What a fantastic way to bring music and heritage to life!

Our Reception classes had an amazing time exploring the history of toys last Friday! They investigated toys from different decades and discovered how play has changed over the years. 🎶 Exploring the World of Music! 🎶 Yesterday, the County Music Service visited our school and gave KS2 pupils an amazing performance and an opportunity to discover a wide range of instruments. 📚 History Off the Page – Year 5 WWII Day 🇬🇧 Our Year 5 pupils stepped back in time and experienced life as an evacuee during our immersive History day! They learned what school was like in the 1940s and even bought rationed goods. It was a fantastic way to bring history to life and deepen their understanding of World War II. #historyoffthepage

Good afternoon. As Friday is the last day of term, the children are welcome to come into school in non-school uniform. They will be having class parties in the afternoon, and if you are able to send in some biscuits or crisps for them to share, these would be most welcomed - please only do so if you are able to, and please remember that we are a nut free school. The children will still be going outside for break and lunch, so please ensure that their outfits and shoes are suitable.

🌲 Forest School Adventures! 🌲 This half term, our Year 1 children have been building their 'sense and trust' skills in the great outdoors. Blindfolded and guided only by a rope, they navigated a route around the wildlife area—trusting their instincts every step of the way! Thank you to all of our wonderful Year 6 Junior Sports Leaders for working hard at the ALT Key Stage 2 Inclusive Cup sports festival today. Our sports leaders worked hard to set up and organise all of the sports stations, they did all of the score keeping and they also coached all of the teams from different schools on how to play the different multi skills games. The leaders were exceptional role models and they have been attending their after school junior sports leader club since the start of September to prepare them for this event.

🏆🏒🥅Well done to our Year 4 hockey team for winning the ALT North Suffolk Schools’ hockey championships this evening. Our team played a two leg cup final against our good friends from Albert Pye Primary. It was an exciting couple of matches which finished with Red Oak winning 5.4 on aggregate across the two matches. Well done to Albert Pye for also playing some fantastic hockey, your players were fantastic and it was a very close final. A special mention goes to Scarlett from Red Oak who was selected as player of the match, well sone Scarlett!

Our two mixed Year 6 football teams took part in the Schools Against Racism Cup football tournament this afternoon, playing matches against other local ALT primary schools. Both of our teams demonstrated great sportsmanship and team working skills. Our B team finished the tournament in 3rd place overall and our A team won all of their matches to finish in 1st place to win the cup. We are very proud of both of our teams. This special football tournament was dedicated to spreading love, friendship and unity and ending racism and discrimination around the world. 🖤🤍 ⚽️🌍🏆

80 students from local ALT primary schools attended Red Oak today to take part in the 5th annual ALT Schools Against Racism football festival. Students spent the morning learning about many famous sports stars who have faced racism and discrimination. Students learnt about the negative impacts of racism and internet trolling and they took part in workshop activities to create multi racial artwork to create collages of the England men’s team and the England Lionesses. Students also wrote letters to the FA to tell them about what they had learnt about and to show support for the FA’s other anti racism campaigns. At the end of the day, all students recieved a special Schools Against Racism football medal with a special black and white ribbon to signify unity, love and friendship between dark skinned people and light skinned people. 🖤🤍 ⚽️ 🌍
